The client was introduced to us by our partners at Home Counties: Pools & Hot Tubs. Her initial vision involved a full extension to the main property to house an indoor swim experience. However, building regulations for indoor pools created complications and escalated costs significantly. We presented a cost-effective alternative: a standalone garden room that offers the same luxury experience without the regulatory burden.
Collaborating closely with the client, we designed a solution that eradicated compromise. Groundworks were coordinated with the client's existing builder to prepare a deep pit, allowing the pool to sit almost flush with the floor for a sleek, level-deck appearance. Careful positioning ensured every element remained more than one metre from the boundary to satisfy planning considerations.
We applied our extensive experience in wet leisure environments to ensure every aspect of this 6m x 4m room handles humidity and moisture effectively. The Endless Pool sits almost at ground level, creating a sophisticated aesthetic.
To ensure practicality, we incorporated a discreet hatch to provide easy access for maintenance and servicing. The interior design features walls finished in the colour 'Downpipe', complemented by a 'Classic Oak Grey' wet room floor, establishing an atmosphere of quality and purpose.
Precision was paramount for this installation. We positioned a hardwood door exactly opposite the new door on the main house extension. This alignment creates a direct corridor link, offering the feeling of a complete in-house pool experience while keeping the building separate.
The exterior features our popular Anthracite finish, combining MTX cladding with our cement wall product. This choice ensures a zero-maintenance solution with a 10-year guarantee and a life expectancy exceeding 50 years.
This project demonstrates how a garden room can save nearly 50% compared to a traditional extension while delivering a premium lifestyle facility. It provides a secure and accessible retreat that meets the client's specific needs.
