Why the shift away from timber?
Since the disruption of the Covid Pandemic there has been an increase in the number of homeowners extending their living space with garden rooms. There are multiple uses for our Baker Garden Buildings including home offices, family rooms, studios, and gyms for those looking to relax, escape and embrace outdoor living.
At Bakers we are always eager to extend our cladding options to offer our customers different aesthetics, effects and finishes.
With our drive for longevity and zero maintenance, it has become obvious that offering timber as one of our solutions for cladding was really not working for most of our clientele. Therefore, we carried out extensive research to find a product that aesthetically replicated the natural appearance that our customers love from a woodgrain but also aligned with our zero maintenance mantra.
Why we chose Pura® NFC by Trespa
Pura® NFC provides a durable complete cladding solution, available in a range of traditional and contemporary wood effects and uni colour panels, with colour-matching accessories to achieve a professional finish.
The NFC in Pura® NFC stands for natural fibre core. The high-pressure laminate is made of up to 70% natural fibres, which go through an advanced in-house developed manufacturing process. Its closed surface minimises dirt build-up and makes the cladding easy to clean. The final product keeps buildings looking beautiful for decades.

In August 2022, the dedicated team from Performance Panels, the UK's Premium Distribution Partner for Pura® NFC, came on-site to Bakers to conduct product installation training, to offer insight and technical support to our in-house installation team.
Since the demonstration building was installed at our Show Centre, our clients have been impressed that the material, which is engineered wood, delivers visually what they were seeking with traditional timber.
