Combination Bi-Fold Garden Room in Gravesend, Kent

We were recommended to Mr and Mrs G by a member of their family for whom we had previously installed a garden office. They visited our showrooms and decided they liked the idea of our executive bi-fold room. However, as this was going to be positioned alongside a swimming pool, they also wanted to include a storage area and a separate changing room.
The biggest issues to be resolved whilst working on this project were the large Ley Landii trees encroaching the pool area - cutting off much of their garden, as well as a large sloping of land which offered little use and hence needed levelling.
Due to the geographic location as well as the complexity of ground work required, we called upon a company local to Mr & Mrs G to undertake these works - although the project in its entirety was project managed by Bakers.

The ground work team excavated 80m³ of soil and lay an oversized concrete base that was 17 x 10m. We then installed a steel and sleeper retaining wall to the three sides. Not only did this create the retaining of nearly 1.5m of spoil, it also helped create the steps from the pool up to the garden room and top level. The old slabs surrounding the swimming pool were lifted and new ones laid - blending with the steps and large patio area to the top level.
Within this patio area the building was positioned with electrics running through the base into the building.
The building itself was 6m wide and 3.4m deep. The main garden room section was 4m wide leaving the rest of the changing room and storage to the rear. The entire building was lined, insulated and double glazed. We installed the excellent 3.3 m 5 leaf bifold doors. A partition was used to separate the changing room (accessible through main building) and the storage area (accessible through the exterior rear right hand side of the building).
Dark oak Sikkens was applied to the exterior leaving a beautifully finished garden room.
We also installed the electrics with external LED downlights that were on a dusk sensor & timer. Along with our standard convector heater internal bar light and sockets.
